Starting to move in - 4th June 2006
Welcome to David and Felicity's self build site that is all about our building project in Herefordshire. We are building an externally insulated new house and
converting a traditional stone barn. Both builds are intended to create highly efficient buildings, consuming minimal amounts of energy and water. The aim is to also
minimise the impact of the building process and the materials used, sourcing as much as possible locally, reclaiming as feasible. Both builds will
use a combination of well known and novel techniques with targets to deliver some of the highest performing buildings in the UK
The intention of this web site is very much akin to many of the other self build web sites that have been of use to us during our project - to help
others make choices and to show some of the decisions we have made and problems we have encountered. The build started in December 2003 (top left) and now looks as shown on the right. LOOK AT THE BUILD DIARY PAGES FOR CURRENT PROGRESS
Hopefully the site, albeit rather basic, will be clear and easy to use, and the information contained will be interesting and complete. Should you have any comments or want to ask further questions please see the
Contact Us link.
