The bread and butter of this week was plasterboarding walls and ceilings mostly in
the basement. This also inluded making a door frame or two and replacing a metre square of plasterboard that sagged when it had been skimmed. We also built up more of the stud walling that
surrounds the external walls in the basement it which the plasterboard is attached. As we were going along wiring was run in for lights and power points.
The cream of this week was the heat pump
pipes. A couple of days of machine mayhem (blocked fuel lines) caused fun - especially with the weather about to break but we got all 650m of pipe coiled and laid into the trenches and then back filled
with surprising ease - and the pressure test showed them to be good as well! Fortunately we didn't need the full linear length of trench we had expected but it really was nice for something to be
straightforward.
Whilst planning for future work the reality of a mains pressure tank dawned on me - a pressure relief drain - fortunately there should be a fairly easy solution but it was something I had
missed up until now.
And the last point is that when budgeting for a self build don't forget the cost of osteopathy - I have added mine to the links as he has been so helpful over the last 18 months.
