were obvious across the, thankfully fairly level, roof. This along with painting fasica board at every available opportunity! This left the valley battens to go in to support the lead but did
mean I could return the nail gun (about 15,000 nails later) - with hindsight I should have bought a gun rather than hired but that's the beauty of hindsight - I never thought it was going to take this long
to do. Having got the battens out of the way we started on the bargeboards - cutting and painting to start with, closely followed by putting up a Velux in the main roof - it was a P10 - large and very
heavy but despite missing one flashing kit it didn't take too long nor cause too many problems and is a major worry passed so I'm happy. We also got all of the fascia boards up in place and the flat roof
people started on fitting the copper - making 8m long trays on site and then lifting them up to the roof - fun in the wind and rain!! It's not finished yet but so far I have been impressed by the work
done by the firm - JE Gibbings - see the links for more details. Oh yes and the stone crept on up. |
