20th to 26th December 2004

We've been going for a year now - yes some houses can be started and finished in a year and yes I wish this was one of them sometimes BUT we are doing something away from the norm and it's pretty much been a maximum of 3 people on site so cost is down and quality (hopefully) up.

Anyway we have a shell and next year will be the internals so there is hope of being in before Christmas - well one year anyway.

This week was spent finishing the gutters, starting the downpipes where they don't go on the render which isn't there yet. Stripping half of the scaffolding down and working on installing the heavy green oak frames into which the Vrogum windows will be fixed. There are a coupld of pictures below of these - although it might be a tad tricky to see due to the scaffolding.

We also took delivery of insulated plasterboard and ordinary plasterboard for the first floor so these could come in prior to finishing the windows - yes we're even managing to plan in advance these days!

A few days off next week so not much will happen but the main push is going to be upper windows so the rest of the scaffolding can come down.
