in that area - something we were ready for by Thursday although the scaffolding wont go down until Monday - not that I care as it is no longer on hire for that section and I pay no more! So what we did was
adding extra battens to the insulation boxes, fitting, filling and painting soffits and finishing bargeboards, fitting guttering and fitting the first 2 windows from Vrogum (supplied by Vitek Windows). The
guttering was interesting as one box was delayed and I thought it had come from one supplier and the sections supplied didn't match their brochure - a few phone calls later it turns out it was sourced from
someone else - although I didn't know - no real problem (but I don't like the end caps that go into the gutter rather than around it). The gutter is powder coated aluminium, square section - light
enough to be able to put a 3m section up on your own - fortunately the RAL colours of the gutter and the paint on the facias match really well. The windows were a breeze - I was waiting for some window
strip from Compriband but they promised delivery for Wednesday and that then magically slipped a week so I gave up waiting for them and found another solution - really the biggest problem in the whole
buidling industry is the inability of all involved to tell the truth rather than what people think the client wants to hear??
The windows when they were in were great - spent ages playing with them - sad that I am. Next jobs windows and gutters.... |
