Click on the images below to see a larger version. 9th to 14th August 2004 I only worked two days this week so not a lot happened - we finished cutting blocks for the 1st
floor, laid the edge blocks, put concrete in the gaps where 2 beams were next to each other, grouted over the whole area with a sand/cement slurry and then screwed on hold down straps for those walls without
beams landing on them and fixed twists to the slab. The I beams used for the external insulation will be fixed to the twists later. Oh and it rained - so if I wasn't wet with sweat I was soaked
with rain - lovely! The stonemasons were on site most of the week and the stonework is gradually going up - still looks great. I've ordered windows - Vrogum windows from Denmark, supplied by Vitek Windows.
The quality and performance are great and the service has been excellent. Vrogum will also supply an unfinished oak frame - something that fits with the mullioned appearance we will be using.
Next week blocks, weather permitting. |
