occurred on one day - but there were 8 people on site! The week started with the digger not starting - the starter moter had been playing up for some time and it decided to give up the ghost - didn't
manage to get it fixed until late Tuesday. So initially we were back filling by hand with barrows - hard, hot work. We were working on the footings for the back draught lobby - tricky to get to with a
machine anyway. Had to get DPM in and then steel mesh and try not to break the DPM. Once the digger was fixed work progressed again - the footings were finished and Ok'd by the BCO - we then debated
whether to fill the 2.5m3 by buying the mix in or mixing on site. Given the difficulty of getting the mix out of the wagon quick enough and getting it in properly we decided to mix by hand - next
week's fun job! At the end of the week the brickies arrived and walls shot up again. Steel arrived on site and was primed. With stonework arriving soon we also pulled some more stone from the
pile of rubble that was the cottage. The weekend comes just in time! |
