5th to 11th July 2004

A slower week - even slower for the fact that the stonemason rang on Monday morning to apologise for the fact that he wouldn't be able to make it on site as promised this week.

Quite a lot of other smaller jobs got done - galvanised angle was screwed to the wall - this will be used to hold the bottom of the 'box' containing the cellulose insulation on the outside of the house.  More insulation was put up, a slight pause was had due to heavy rain turning the site into a mud pool and then we - guess what - did some more backfilling - however hqaving the new JCB made life much easier - the bucket is larger than the Kramer and the telescopic arm makes dropping muck in the right place much simpler.

The week ended with some more block laying around the retaining walls.

Silly stuff this week - holding on to rebar when standing by the retaining wall only to find myself slowly falling as the rebar bent - one grazed elbow as a prize for that and pushing the telescopic arm of the forklift out too far when the bucket was rather full turning the forklift into a large seesaw for a second or two!
