cancel because of the scaffolders failing to deliver...) - all the beams went in really quickly - it really helped having a banksman from the crane hire firm who was used to working with the driver. Of
course the setting out plan didn't quite work but luck smiled on us and we were able to jiggle things around. With the beams in we needed to put the blocks in - during this exercise I discovered just how
much I could sweat - hot weather isn't always nice. We got most of them in but there were LOADS of cut blocks needed - the £25 angle grinder wasn't up to the job and the sparks encouraged me to hire a
petrol one - they are great - so much quicker - why didn't I use one last time I wonder? We were nowhere near finished by the end of the week (other than physically that is) however more stone had quietly
been going up whilst we had been slaving on the floor above - and it looks great. Off on holiday for a few days ... first time off since January. |
