gaps between the floor beams with blocks, including loads of cut ones (a £20 diamond disc was a damned good investment). Having got those in place we then filled the gaps between the bottom of the
floor blocks and the tops of the walls with cut blocks. Spent some time on this to reduce air infiltration into the heated envelope of the house.... Have been chasing missing ceiling clips before we
can grout the blocks in place with sand/cement mix and have been ordering timber ready to build temporary frames for windows and doors on the ground floor. Have also been wondering how on earth we're
going to back fill around the house without having a load of manual effort. Am lining up stoneworker, blockies and will have to sort out some scaffolding soon but at the moment I am revising the ground
floor plan so I know exactly what is needed where to avoid the problems made in the basement where somethings were forgotten and had to be reworked later. Personally I'd like it a tad cooler - working on
top of a beam and block floor in the blazing sun is rather warm! |
