 25th April to 1st May 2005

A massive week.  Monday and the insulation people (Pen Y Coed) came to pump Warmcel 500 into the box sections on the outer walls and into the roof sections.  This they did by cutting 100mm holes in each box and then pumping it in.  Very soon 9 very large pallets of warmcel had gone and by 10am on Tuesday so had the installers - very quick and everything was done as should be.

This then left us to refinish where the holes had been cut and then put up building paper covered by lath around windows and Heraklith board (a wood wool board) where there were no windows.  Some forethought earlier on  in the build could have ensure that there was sufficient depth allowed around the windows to use board everywhere but it was one of those things that slipped through so hence where there isn't space for the board we're using lath.

On the subject of forethought we also had to revisit the windows - I'd not left any play in the screws going into the green oak so risked the possibility of the green oak shrinking and damaging the inner frame - so a solution was found and screws loosened where we could and replaced where we couldn't.

When we had finished putting in around 2500 screws in the lath and board we finished off putting up the ventilation strips to vent the cqavity behind the lath and board and then installed the rear door frame (this will be rendered around hence needed to be in place.

This left us (hopefully) ready for the renderer on Tuesday.

Oh yes and we also ran 25mm2 wires around for the main fuse boxes!

As I said a massive week.
