17th to 23rd January 2005

This week we finished off the external work on soffits and first floor windows - fitting some stainless steel cills and mortaring around the windows set in stonework.  We also discovered one scratched window with some pitting where much had splashed on it - annoying but not the end of the world.  We'll see what it looks like later on and change the unit if we care enough/ have enough money/ have enough time!!  Whilst talking about windows the BCO came around and commented on the small openers and fire regs - fortunately we're fitting a sprinkler system so we didn't need to follow his initial advice to change where the windows were hung - not something I would have enjoyed having to do.

As we were waiting for Oak for the rest of the windows most of this week was spent on the internals of the roof - making the structure air tight and fitting insulated plasterboard to form a box section into which the Warmcell will be blown.  Basically this meant wrapping the roof in plastic and then screwing up plasterboard - without making too many holes.
