19th to 25th April 2004

Steel didn't arrive this week - should be on site on Tuesday - why am I not holding my breath I wonder?

However this week was spent laying blocks on the walls outside of the garage, along with the pier upon which the bridge to the front door will now rest.  Once laid these walls were also filled with concrete.

Other work making sure the padstones were level and at correct heights and marking out positions for stanchions - when to do appear.  Also sorted out a crane hire firm to use - hopefully!

Silly bit for this week - finding a Robin had nested on the roll of Terram in the barn - quandery - do I or do I not do that work now??  If the steel turns up I'll have stacks to do anyway...  (does seem like the mantra of the moment doesn't it - if the steel turns up - one wonders if that will then be replaced with when the floor beams turn up!).
