We're getting into the home run - not the home run of us being finished but that of us being able to move in.  It took my father 20 years to fit skirting boards - don't think we'll be that slow but.....

So this week was getting the gas cooker plumbed in, finishing the stair treads, sealing up the shower, sorting out a leak on the bathroom basin, starting to fit kitchen worktops, sealing and waxing more of the stone floors, wiring in the sprinkler system ready for commissioning, door furniture, cat flap, etc etc etc.

The most frustrating part of the week was lugging the washing machine we have stored for the last 4 years down to the house plumbing it in and then finding it was kaput!  Worse still it looked like the module (printed circuit board bit) had gone and a spare part at £120 made a new machine the most logical step - seems silly to bin a machine so it's waiting in the garage for some spare time with a circuit tester to find the component that's blown!!  Somehow don't think that's going to happen too soon!!

Other than that it rained a bit... well a lot .... well a hell of a lot actually.
