Another steady but busy week.
Painting continued with upstairs all but finished, downstairs being much further advanced.
Doors - all of the upstairs doors were hung, varnished and handles and so on fitted. Doors were also hung in the utility
area downstairs and painted.
The last few window boards were varnished and fitted.
Teh timber for the stair linings and stair treads was collected from the kiln. Some had split (most probably due to the
thickness of the timber - 50mm) so we had to carefully select the timber to use and how best to use it, make initial cuts and then deliver off to be planed - to my surprise the next day we got a call to say the timber
was ready to be collected!! So now we have a large stack of chestnut ready to be finished into strair treads.
Next week we should be finishing off the goundworking related tasks outside.....
